Scanning & modelling · Cascais, Portugal

From a scan or an idea to a part that prints.

Two services for people who already have a 3D scan, or only a requirement. We take a scan, yours or ours, clean the mesh, repair it and rebuild it as a solid model that is ready to print. Or we engineer a part from scratch, around what it has to do: the fit, the loads and the material. take-two is a 3D engineering studio in Cascais, Portugal. Send us your scan, a sketch or a photo on WhatsApp or to [email protected].

§ 01 · Working with your scans

Have a 3D scan that won't print?

A raw scan is a mesh: hundreds of thousands of small triangles with noise, holes where the scanner could not see, and no idea which surfaces are flat or which holes are round. Most scans need work before they print, and some cannot be printed at all as they are.

We clean the mesh, fill the gaps and make it watertight. Where the part has to fit something, we rebuild it as a solid CAD model, so flats come out flat and holes come out round. If you don't have a scan yet, we can scan the part here.

§ 02 · Engineering from scratch

No part to copy? We design it from what it has to do.

Some parts never existed. A bracket for a new mount, an adapter between two things that were never meant to meet, a cover for an odd shape. We start from the job the part has to do: what it holds, what it touches, where it lives, and how it is fitted.

From there we model it, choose the material, and check the fit before anything is printed. You see the model first and nothing is made until you are happy with it.

Tell us what the part has to do. We'll tell you honestly what it takes, and if 3D printing isn't the right answer, we'll say so.
