A new lid for an outdoor pool control box.

An outdoor pool control box, the one that holds the filtration switch, the breaker, the timer and the pool-light switch, had lost its front lid: the original smoked plastic cover had cracked, and with it gone the switches sat open to sun and rain. We took the shape from the broken original and printed a new lid in two halves, joined along the middle. take-two is a 3D engineering studio in Cascais, Portugal, and most of our work is replacement parts like this one. § 01 · The problem

What happens when the lid goes?

The lid is the only thing between the weather and the switchgear. Without it, the timer, the breaker and the switches were open to rain and direct sun.
